Coping Strategies from Kundalini Yoga

We`ve been seeing conditions where people are victims to fear and panic attacks much more in the past few years than in previous decades, especially in the face of the so-called CoViD-19 Crisis. 

According to a randomized single-blind clinical trial published in the psychiatric journal „Jama Psychiatry“ in August 2020 Kundalini Yoga is an effective treatment of generalised anxiety disorder (Read Full Article). 
Of course Kundalini Yoga`s many health balancing and health inducing effects have been known to us teachers and practitioners of Kundalini Yoga for many years. We would thus like to offer people more in depth-knowledge and strategies from the perspective of Kundalini Yoga on this specific topic and through different teachers and therapists. That`s why we`ve invited six selected very loved and respected KY teachers to present their perspectives on the topic and share their experiences, special techniques, kriyas or meditations from the vast technology of Kundalini Yoga.

Tarn Taran Kaur.  She is the Founder of Kundalini Yoga Germany, an International Lead Trainer and authors books on Conscious Pregnancy and Conscious Cooking. She has also been also 3HO Women and has been running the Community Gardens in New Mexico. “I arrived in Hamburg in 1975 with my husband, a few items that fit in a VW bus, and US$ 500! At 25 years, I needed to face deep fears and cultivate my inner self and outer reality. My life journey continued to dish out severe challenges and dark shadows. Now at 72 years, I want to share how my yogic practice supported my life.”

Atma Singh lives his calling as a yoga teacher and trainer for Kundalini Yoga, as well as a consultant, teacher and trainer for Karam Kriya. Since 2011 he has been running the Adi Shakti Center for Yoga and Self-Healing in Göttingen, Germany where he lives with his wife and two daughters, as well as the Kriya Institute for Counseling & Awareness Development through Numerology, his training school, through which he has been offering coaching training for many years. „I accompany people in developing their soul’s potential and support them in finding more health, awareness and satisfaction on their own responsibility. For this I use the holistic body and energy work of Kundalini Yoga and the approach of applied numerology“.

Gurusansar Singh from Santiago, Chile, is a Kundalini Yoga Professional Trainer. He is a musician, poet and Karam Kriya student. He runs International Basanti Kundalini Yoga School along with his wife Gurudevta Kaur. He has specialized in the area of Mantra, Naad and Sound. He teaches internationally specializing in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Gurmukhi, Naad Yoga and Karam Kriya, mostly in Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. He has recorded two albums of Kundalini Yoga mantras and writes often. He also offers spiritual consultations through Karam Kriya and loves traditional Chinese martial arts.

Pritam Hari Kaur from South Africa, is a Legacy Teacher and trainer. She lived in Hamburg in the eighties and was the 3HO Secretary for Europe. Since 1987 she has been teaching Kundalini Yoga in South Africa. She wrote the illustrated Yoga book Kundalini Yoga Fan and lives in an organic farm nearby Cape Town with her family .

Sat Hari Singh. After working for Yogi Tea for 30 years, Sat Hari Singh’s focus today is on teaching. To this purpose he founded the German Kundalini Yoga Festival and the Guru Ram Das Aquarian Academy together with Gurudev Kaur. He is a worldwide renowned sacred chant artist and the author of many books on Kundalini Yoga. His inspiration is the translation of Guru`s Bani. It is his love and trust in the Divine and Guru that drives his teachings, activities and service.

Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa, PhD, C-IAYT, YACEP, brings the ancient teachings of Kundalini Yoga into modern medicine as founding director of the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine & Humanology. She developed and directs the 34-month 1,120-hour IAYT accredited International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training in 48 countries and coordinates outcome studies on the medical effects of yoga practice. Dr. Khalsa’s Kundalini Yoga program for people living with HIV is featured in the book, Yoga as Medicine by Timothy McCall, MD. and her groundbreaking work in Kundalini Yoga Therapy is featured in the book, Yoga Therapy and Integrative Medicine: Where Ancient Science Meets Modern Medicine.

Yoga & Healing: Angst  

Wir beobachten insbesondere in den vergangenen zwei Jahren eine verstärkte Zunahme von Ängsten und generalisierten Angststörungen in der breiten Bevölkerung. Kundalini Yoga kann eine wirksames therapeutisches Mittel sein, um damit umzugehen. Sechs der LehrerInnen und TherapeutInnen, die wir lieben und schätzen, schenken uns tieferes Verständnis und teilen konkrete Techniken, Kriyas und Meditationen zum Thema aus der Sicht des Kundalini Yoga.
